Union Pacific

When Prich and I came in, we found Don introducing a new game. As is the norm, Don was having a hard time getting the boys to listen to the rules, or even try to be a little patient. Someday I hope that Don will remember this feeling when I am trying to introduce a new game! Last time, I don't think that Goa went too bad for a first play (learning/listening to the rules) but I do find it a little annoying that people like to label a game before giving it a chance. If we fail to give game play a chance, we would never play pointless games like The Great Dalmuti or Bang!

Ok, now that I have gotten that off my chest! Don finally got frustrated and aborted the game. It was good for Prich and I because I was about ready to fall asleep! We decided to pull out a little heaver game, Union Pacific!

I still like this game, I do think the game would be better without the Union Pacific cards. I don't think they are a game breaker, I think they slow the game down when everyone starts going for them. Depending on how many players the math is not going to work out, I think the union pacific cards should be in a multiple of the player count, so everyone has an even chance. That is my only bitch about the game. I ended up with the most union pacific cards but it didn't work out very well. The luck of the draw hurt most of the players the most, but it was  a good game. I don't think Don enjoyed his first time that much, but give it time!
